I came to the atmosphere from civil engineering. My master’s at IIT Bombay, spent studying the air over Varanasi and Mumbai, showed me how much of the sky’s story is still unwritten, and how closely it is tied to the people breathing beneath it. I want to spend my career as an atmospheric scientist, helping to write it.
M.Tech. thesis, Jan 2025 – Jun 2026, supervised by Prof. Abhishek Chakraborty, IIT Bombay
One size-resolved framework applied to fine aerosol (PM2.1) in four bins, at an inland Indo-Gangetic Plain site (Varanasi) and a coastal site (Mumbai). The 0.65–1.1 µm droplet mode dominates organic carbon in winter at both sites, but not in coastal summer, and each case is driven by its own chemical pathway rather than one inland-to-coastal gradient.
Share of fine-mode organic carbon carried by the 0.65–1.1 µm bin
